I’ve struggled with timing and confusion in the past. Do I boil the water first? Leave the water boiling? Start with cold water? The list goes on! Needless to say, my hard boiled eggs have suffered because of it. Dry centers, under done, a mysterious gray ring around the yolk, what is that? Well no more my friends! Let’s go over the steps to ensure you have mystery free results.
- 6 eggs
- Fill with cold water until the eggs are covered with an inch of water. With the lid on bring to a rolling boil. Once you achieve the boil, turn the heat off and keep the lid on.
- Set your timer for 15 minutes.
- Plunge the eggs in ice cold water for 10 minutes to stop the cooking process.
- Peel or refrigerate for later use
