Almond snowflake cake
 
 
A beautiful almond snowflake cake simply dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1¾ cup flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup ground almonds
  • ¾ cup milk
  • Powdered sugar for dusting. Optional but so pretty!
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat the pan with cooking spray
  2. In a large bowl combine the butter and sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and extracts and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, salt and ground almonds. Stir until just combined. Stir in the milk.
  4. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool 10-15 minutes in the pan.
  6. I placed the cooling rack on top of the cake and held it firmly in place before turning the cake pan upside down.
