Chocolate M&M cookie bars

Serves: 8 inch square
Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, very soft
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup mini M&M candies
  • ¾ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line an 8 inch square pan with foil or parchment paper. Let some hang over the edges to make lifting the entire bar out easier. Lightly coat the pan with cooking spray.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla and stir to combine.
  3. Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Fold in the m&m's and chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the dough in the baking pan and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Let the cookie bar cool for about an hour before lifting it out.
  7. Slice and serve. Store leftovers in an air tight container.
