In a bowl combine the soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, ginger and pepper. Set aside.
Cook noodles in boiling water for 1 minute. Drain and set aside.
In a large wok or frying pan heat the oil and add the onions and celery. Cook for a few minutes until soft and add in the cabbage. Cook another minute.
Add the noodles and pour in the soy mixture. Toss to combine.
Notes
I found the chow mein noodles in the salad cooler. I also added a splash of water in with the soy mixture as the noodles had dried out a bit while sitting.
