Big soft gingerbread cookies
- ¾ cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2¼ cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- ¾ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer or large bowl cream together the butter and sugar. Add the egg and molasses and mix until combined.
- Add the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Stir to combine.
- Shape the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet. Flatten slightly and bake for 10 minutes.
- Allow to cool 2 minutes on the sheet before transferring the cookies to a cooling rack.
- Store in an air tight container.
